The '90s have contributed a greater number of hugely successful teen pop idols than has been seen in over twenty years. Think of Take That, Backstreet Boys, Hanson, and Spice Girls and you get the idea.
Consider Gary Barlow and Spice Girls winning Ivor Novello awards in England and Hanson winning rave reviews from Rolling Stone and other "seriours" rock publications. This is a strange new twist, and a wonderful one. Bubblegum gains some acceptance and even... a little respect?
