Andy & David: Why They Really Need You Now!

You know them, you love them, you want them, and Andy and David want you too, more now than ever!

Andy and David sat in their bedroom alone upstairs. Only one small light burned brightly, casting a ring of light on the ceiling above the desk.
Andy sat on his bed, his arms drawn up around his knees, thinking. David mechanically flipped through a magazine held loosely in his hand.
If somebody had walked into the room right then, they would never have guessed that this Andy and David was the same set of twins who were usually so sunshine bright, so much fun, and always smiling!
What had happened to make them so quiet? What was it that had stolen the smiles from their faces, the laughter from their hearts?

Andy and David are very talented boys. They sing beautifully, dance, play instruments and act! They've had a chance to prove all of this many times--in recording sessions, on dozens of television guest-appearances, on popular shows like "Sonny and Cher," "Jonathan Winters," "The Dean Martin Comedy Hour," and even their first real acting role on "The Partridge Family." But Andy and David seem to be following a streak of bad luck. Their first record company, MCA, didn't work very hard to get their records released and thousands of disappointed fans wrote to Tiger Beat asking where they could get copies of the twins' singles and albums!

Then, the "Partridge Family" record producer, Wes Farrell, heard the boys and decided they were exactly right for him! He produced some songs for them on their second album, but then other business matters caught his attention and the boys' second album didn't get out to the record stores either!

Just when the twins were getting disappointed in everyone but their fans, who continued to write to them and encourage them, MGM records decided they'd sign them up! A and D were so excited! Mike Curb, who produced so many hits for the Osmonds, was going to be working with them, and MGM was such a big record company, their records would surely be sent out to the record shops this time!

But then, at the last minute, the record deal fell through. Andy and David once again had very heavy hearts. But the biggest blow was yet to come! When the twins heard they were going to do a guest-star role on "The Partridge Family" they practically jumped for joy!
Here was a chance to do some singing and acting, but more important, rumors were going around that Andy and David just might take David Cassidy's place when he left the show--as he had planned to do!

The boys did the show, and everyone was excited about it! Susan Dey loved working with them and they loved her! They became best buddies with Danny Bonaduce, and a tape of the show was hurried off to New York so the big bosses in charge of ABC-TV could see how well they did! Everything seemed perfect! It looked like Andy and David would be regulars on "The Partridge Family," just like we printed in Tiger Beat.

Then once again, the sky came crashing down! Nobody knows exactly what happened but there are a lot of rumors. Of course you probably know that David decided not to leave the show, so perhaps that's the reason.
Other people are saying that the show's producers don't want to take on any "new" teenage idols, after the troubles they've had with David.
And, still others are saying that David decided he didn't want to be replaced by anyone! We don't know exactly what happened, Andy and David don't either. All they know is they've been hurt once again. It seems lots of bad luck is happening to them all at one time.

They've lost a record company, a television show and maybe a little bit of enthusiasm, too. But now, they wonder, will they lose you, too? Now when they need your love more than ever! We think the record companies, most of the people who manage Andy and David, and lots of others, have made some bad choices. Andy and David are two of the most talented young entertainers in the business today.

Why not let Andy and David know how you feel! Perhaps you can come up with some good suggestions to let the world know how talented and dear they are! Write to them at: I'm For Andy & David, Tiger Beat Magazines, 7060 Hollywood Blvd., #800, Hollywood, Ca. 90028. They'd love to hear from you!
